about simon
I'm a twenty-one-year-old Politics student based in Coventry. I've been making websites for nearly eight years now, inbetween going to school and university, and the works you see on this page are the edited highlights.

My aim in website design is to produce sites which are clean, tidy and properly coded, and I code all my sites by hand to ensure accuracy and accessibility. I'm big on usability and universal access, and I strive to provide a friendly and professional service at fair and sensible prices. technical support
All my clients get free technical support both before and after their website is produced. I am happy to advise on purchasing domain names and web hosting, and on issues relating to the design of company identity and branding.
current portfolio
Umbrella Society at the University of Warwick needed a website which would be simple, clean and easily accessible. All the information is provided on one page, without being overpowering.

health world is a bright, accessible website for Michele James' health and confidence-building business. It features an online shop and the ability to book places online for confidence-building courses.

Health UnLtd is a website promoting Shirley Hiscock's personal business and the complementary therapies it offers. The layout makes use of bright colours and stock photography.

St Peter's Quarter is a five-star holiday home in York, whose owners asked me to design a website for them. The site is simple, clean and aims to demonstrate the quality of the accommodation.

WCHC Online is the website of the Woodbridge Complementary Health Centre. It offers information on the Centre and the therapies it offers through a clean and simple design aimed at maximising accessibility.

@ease is a website for Clarissa Grandi's complementary health practice. The key aim of the design is to emphasise the importance of relaxation in healing.

The Edge Online is the website of The Edge: Sound and Vision, a high-end hi-fi shop in Ipswich. Special offers can be updated by the client and are displayed in a sortable table based on the contents of a database.

emmadalton.net is the online home of complementary therapist Emma Dalton. The website advertises the therapies Emma offers and provides case studies and contact details.

calamity from the skies is a personal website, dedicated to the character of Jenova from Final Fantasy VII. The site is, as far as I know, the largest of its kind on the Internet.

things to think about is exactly that; a small and simple website featuring a selection of inspirational quotations. New ones are added regularly.

contact details
The best way to contact me is via email; I try to reply to every enquiry within 24 hours. Drop me a line at
simon@hydroxide.co.uk and I'll be in touch. If you become a client, you'll get my phone number so you can easily contact me.

social responsibility
I support MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY, and since April 2005 have donated ten per cent of my website design revenues to Oxfam. I recycle all waste paper, card and plastic (anything with any sensitive or personal information is shredded first), and donate used postage stamps and printer ink cartridges to charity for recycling.
